Greg Davis :D
I'm sorry for being so easy, but I I went to see Greg Davis :Firing Cheeseballs at a Dog, because of his 'The Inbetweeners' fame. Very curious. (That sitcom is kind of popular among bilinguals, and people who work in TV drama industry here in Japan. We are still waiting for its general release, though. ) There was another reason, too. His show was sooooooooo popular, all the dates during my stay were sold out.
Don't you want to see the show desperately once you find out you cannot? I am that sort of person, so I was lurking around the Pleasance box office, checking if there's an extra show. Luckily enough, there was one during my stay.
The show was about this strange fusion of the happiest moment and the hopeless moment. Mr. Davis told us a series of his experience to illustrate that. A very powerful set. He was definitely in command of the whole audience, including the fairly drunk ones. (the show started just before mid-night, which (I believe tells what sort of audience were like.)
I enjoyed its whole tone there... the audience all looked as if they knew they would love the show. The venue was full of excitement even before Mr. Davis came onto stage. There are not so many shows that I can experience this kind of unity between the audience and the comic. And this is one of the reasons why I love live comedy so much.
